Preface and Aims

This blog will discuss the processes undertaken as well as my own intentions during the creation of my concept EP which, while officially untitled, is carrying the moniker of ‘The Voices EP’. It isn’t uncommon for artists to release self-titled or unnamed records, both Donavan and Bob Dylan have done so.

During the creation of this record I will attempt to adhere to the following criteria.

• The entire work will act as one immersive experience when listened to end to end.
• The individual tracks will be just as effective when listened to in isolation.
• The style will be akin to 70’s progressive bands with influences from post-progressive and ambient music.
• The record will follow the concept detailed later in this blog.
• The tracks will explore a range of human emotions without seeming jarring to the listener in a negative way.
